Downtown NoDa Engagement Session | Cam & Leslie | Charlotte, NC
My time with Cam and Leslie has been one for the books. Originally planned for early in the year, we had to postpone their engagement session to early September due to COVID-19. Along with the engagement session being pushed out, their April wedding was moved to mid-September. It seemed like everything was not going as planned for this couple and I, but the stars aligned for us in the end and everything played out the way it was supposed to.
Cam and Leslie decided on Downtown NoDa for their engagement session. NoDa is a small district in the heart of Charlotte with an eclectic and artistic vibe, delicious food, and even better breweries. NoDa has always been one of my favorite places to shoot because of the versatile backdrops it has to offer. Not only do you have beautiful murals on the sides of restaurants and small businesses, there is also amazing views of the Charlotte skyline while you’re walking the streets of the neighborhood. Cam and Leslie wanted their session here because it was somewhere they both hold near and dear to their hearts. They live in the immediate area, and Downtown NoDa is where they spend a lot of their time together as a couple.
We started at Birdsong Brewing Co. because it is one of Leslie and Cam’s favorite places to go. We got some candid shots of them just conversing with each other, enjoying one another’s company, and cheers’ing with a good drink. After Birdsong, we worked our way down the main road and hit all of their favorite spots. Next on their list was Heist Brewery. This was a sentimental place because it was where they had their first date. We worked our way down the main road that is home to all of NoDa’s restaurants, bars, and small businesses.
Our time together ended at their favorite brewery, Divine Barrel Brewing. We also got to stop at their home and get a quick family photo with their fur baby. One thing is for sure, COVID-19 didn’t stop us from capturing Cam and Leslie’s love story. This engagement session was everything I want for clients, something that helps tell their story and who they are as a couple.
