Whimsical Newton Wedding | Cam & Leslie | Charlotte, NC
2020 was a year for the books, and I feel like that’s even an understatement. There were curveballs on curveballs, plans took unexpected turns, and part of the time I felt like I was a chicken running around with my head cut off. But I made it a goal to blog at least once a month for y’all. And what better way to start that off than blogging about this whimsical backyard wedding I photographed back in September?!
Remember the engagement session I talked about that took place in Downtown NoDa? Well, two weeks later I was with Cam and Leslie again shooting their wedding! Like I had said in a previous post, their wedding plans had a little wrench thrown in them called COVID. But they worked around it, and the outcome was so dreamy and beautiful.
The Newtons rented a quaint little AirBnB located in an area of Charlotte called Midwood Plaza. It was the cutest place; the backyard where the ceremony was located had such luscious greenery, there was a covered patio area with a cozy fireplace to set the mood, everything about it just turned out beautifully. They held their ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends, and dined over some AMAZING Italian food afterwards while jamming to some Billy Joel and Grateful Dead.
Cam and Leslie were such an amazing couple to work with and really stayed true to what their roots were throughout this entire thing. I enjoyed getting to spend time with them over their planning process, and am so privileged to say that they have become lifetime clients of mine! We decided we missed each other so much that I photographed their Christmas cards two months later, haha!
